I Will Follow You Anywhere

Preparing for our next trip here in a couple days, I think back to the places that I’ve been able to travel- Nova Scotia, California, Boston, New York , Florida, Texas, North Carolina, and many more places that I’ve been able to visit explore, and yes, take a few pictures.

Though I’ve seen such a small slice of this planet, I feel truly lucky to have been able to do so. Still, that does not seem to quench my desire to explore even further. I long to see Europe, Asia and special places that are at the top of my list like Iceland and New Zealand. I want to take my new found confidence with the camera and revisit places that are special to me such as Nova Scotia.

I have always believed that there is merit in seeing your existing surroundings with “new eyes”. I love the fact that I have lived in this area for 30+ years and I am still finding new, wonderful and beautiful out f the way places to explore. Yet there is a hunger in some people to wander beyond their familiar surroundings. As Sam Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings said, “If I take one more step, it’ll be the farthest away from home I’ve ever been”. There is a rush of adrenalin for me when I cross into new territory. It is filled with the excitement of adventure. There are always new places to see.
