So I’ve been researching some lighthouses in Maine around the area we will be staying next month. I hope there are lots of awesome sunrises and a couple of foggy mornings. So with lighthouses on the mind, I drew this one out of the batch. This is from a January trip up to Michigan to scope out their lighthouses. I don’t think I will have to worry about wind chill and ice at least in Maine this July.
Camera: Canon 5D Mark II
Lens: Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM
Settings: 24mm Focal Length, 1/320 sec exposure @ f/7.1 ISO100
As far as processing, this is not HDR. I did, however take multiple exposures simply to try to get the best splash that I could. Although there were no big splashes, I did get the best single shot with water breaking on the ice and used that. Contrast and color toning were done with OnOne’s Perfect Effects. People removal was done with Photoshop’s people remover tool and all back into Lightroom for some small final adjustments to cropping.
