This small waterfall is one of many that flows through this gorge at Fall Creek Nature Preserve, or The Potholes as they are commonly called due to the deep pools of water formed into the bedrock here. It is a great place for a hike and and if you can get into the deep canyon at the entrance to the park, you can have yourself an awesome little hike right down the creek bed. I don’t recommend this in high water, but I was able to navigate it a couple times when the water was a bit lower.
Camera: Canon 5D Mark II
Lens: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM
Settings: 6 Bracketed exposures, 16mm Focal Length @ f/11 and ISO 100
The brackets were combined in Photomatix with pretty decent results. As always though, the result was blended with the other originals to blend the best of each exposure into the final product. OnOne Focal Point helped me blur the distant background to give more emphasis to the foreground in this one, especially the nice big pool of water with the colorful stones and rocks underneath the surface. Final touch-ups and crop in Lightroom 5.
