Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park in Chicago has certainly been one of the iconic places to photograph for many years. This has been here since way before “The Bean”; by about 80 years! Classically modeled after Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles in France, this is more classical architecture than anything you’ll find in the more modern Millennium Park.

I took 3 bracketed shots here but only used the underexposed image. It had all the light information needed. I had some fun with this one. I usually prefer a longer exposure for moving water like this, but I liked the way the water looked here in the quick exposure. I added some grit and punch to the skyline and details in the fountain and softened the water in the pool up just a bit. I applied some color toning to this one to give it an overall feel and finished off in Lightroom.
