Last Stop

Take a walk in just about any woods in rural Indiana and you will eventually come across abandoned cars, trucks, and of course farm equipment. This one is close enough to the river that years of floods are beginning to bury it in dirt and a tree trunk is beginning to grow around it.

Nymph Lake Daydream

2012 has been a great year. This photo is from one of my highlights of the year – Rocky Mountain National Park. I was able to visit and photograph some wonderful places – Key West, Charleston, South Carolina, Boston, lighthouses on Lake Michigan and Colorado. Looking forward to 2013!

Under Layers

I rented a macro lens for my trip to Colorado, and I realized that I have not posted many photos that I had taken with that lens in particular. This is likely because this was my first experience with this type of lens and getting great close-up shots with it is not as easy as it may seem. Here is a detailed shot of the bark of a Ponderosa Pine taken in the San Isabel National Forest. The species of tree is an educated guess. The color of the bark in the early morning light was pretty nice, though.
